Dear Riverside Community,
We are honored to share that The Riverside Church has been named a 2025 recipient of a Lucy G. Moses Preservation Project Award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy for our stained glass restoration project.
This prestigious award is bestowed annually to recognize excellence in historic preservation, placing Riverside's stained glass window restoration project among New York City’s most distinguished restoration efforts. It affirms the extraordinary craftsmanship, leadership, and care invested in restoring our historic stained glass windows.
We are deeply grateful for the leadership of Shanniel Morrison, Director of Property Management, and members of the Building Committee for spearheading this project over the last several years. We are equally grateful for the essential support provided by our internal staff, including Tanya Dunlap, Property Manager, and Rich Glassey, Director of Operations, along with our Engineering, Building & Grounds, and Tech Services teams, whose ongoing dedication helped bring this project to completion.
We also celebrate the exceptional craftsmanship of the many preservation specialists and skilled artisans whose work made this achievement possible.
While this award is a significant public recognition, the true beauty of this work is best experienced in the Nave. The Riverside Church Nave is open to visitors every Sunday:
- For Worship: Our services run from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. All are welcome to attend.
- For Visiting: If you wish to view the Nave without attending the service, you are welcome to enter before or after worship at no charge.
- Wednesday – Saturdays: Hour-long tours at 11:00 AM & 2:00 PM.
- Sundays: Exclusive tour at 1:30 PM featuring a live bell concert.
In honor of this milestone, we also invite you to check out this video trailer, which shares a behind-the-scenes look at the historic restoration project.
We hope you will join us in celebrating this historic achievement, and we look forward to welcoming you into the Nave to witness what has now been recognized among New York’s finest achievements in historic preservation.
Blessings,
The Riverside Church
